Natural & Organic Sock Fibers to Consider

Natural & Organic Sock Fibers to Consider

Have you made the commitment to being mindful of your impact on the environment this year? At fütz, we are constantly making an effort to review our production processes, materials and technology to become more sustainable. We are focusing on expanding on our fantastic selection of socks made with natural and sustainable fibers that are not only soft and comfortable, but also have a lower impact on the environment. The fabrics we use in the production of our Essentials Collection for Men & Women include the finest of natural fibers, such as premium long staple combed cotton and bamboo rayon. We are excited to welcome you on a journey to learn more about the recycled, natural and organic fibers we use to produce our high sustainable sock selection.

Premium Organic Long-Staple Combed Cotton Fibers

For seekers of the extra soft, light and comfortable socks for everyday wear is our Men’s and Women’s cotton sock selection. The organic cotton long-staple combed cotton fibers we use to craft our socks have a variety of benefits. Conventional cotton production relies heavily on synthetic pest control methods that can be toxic for cotton farmers and the environment, resulting in reduced soil fertility and even occupational illnesses. Cultivation of organic cotton takes a much more holistic approach to agriculture, using materials and methods that are much less harmful to the environment. Farmers work directly with the earth, removing weeds manually and replenishing soil to ensure a healthy balance. Our organic cotton socks are conditioned for extra softness and comfort. They feature 50% Organic Cotton fibers, and 48% recycled polyester to offer the best long-lasting quality your socks deserve.

Naturally hypoallergenic Rayon Bamboo fibers

If you’re looking for incredibly soft, naturally hypoallergenic and thermal regulating socks that will wick moisture away and resist odor and bacteria, we encourage you to try our rayon bamboo sock selection! Our Rayon material is derived from the cellulose fibers of the Bamboo plant. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth, requires no fertilizer, and self-regenerates from its own roots. It’s a great renewable resource that requires no chemical pesticides during cultivation. However, it’s important to keep in mind that dissolving Bamboo into a pulpy substance, that is then spun into Rayon viscose fibers, does require chemical processes. Thankfully, improvements continue to be made in chemical management and waste treatment across the entire viscose industry. The resulting fabric is much more stretchy than cotton. It’s also great for sensitive skin and has antimicrobial properties, making it the perfect material for cooler and wet seasons.

Sustainability is our mission

Although we are not a 100% sustainable sock company, we are continuously striving to do better everyday. A growth mindset is an important value for us, which is why our sustainable journey does not end here. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and reinvent our products to achieve the highest quality with the lowest environmental impact in mind.
